This July fourth, I have been feeling more patriotic than ever. My father served in the United States Air Force when I was growing up, so I've always had a deep respect and love for my country. However, having witnessed the response of the military personnel to my brother's recent death, I have gained a renewed sense of pride and love for those who valiantly serve our country in defense of our liberties. I do not think many realize what a privilege it is to participate in festivities like parades, fireworks, and barbecues, all of which are intended to help us reflect upon the good that comes from living in the United States of America. I fear that for most people, the activities on July 4th have been reduced to mere traditions and the enjoyment of a day off from work. I hope to inspire within my sons a passion for their country that will be recognizable to others as they devote their lives in serving and promoting the cause of freedom, and I thank God for those dedicated men and women who have done so in the past and who do so now. God bless America!

You have adorable boys! And Happy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteWow, it is great to hear from you! I'm still not up to speed on this blogging thing, but all my friends told us that we couldn't be friends anymore until we got one. It is fun to go check out other blogs though and see how others are doing. You like like you have a beautiful family. Boys are great! It seems like that is what we will be having too. I wanted to express my condolences about Brad. That broke my heart when I saw that. I have many fond memories of him. I remember actually going flying with him once. I am so sorry for your loss. On a lighter note, it was funny to see that you are a huge Survivor fan. I have to admit, I have been a loyal fan since Season 1. I love the show too. However, if given a choice, I would rather be on the Amazing Race. I actually sent an application in to be on the show. I'm just not interesting enough though I guess. Well, I don't mean to be long winded. It was just great hearing from you. Congratulations on what looks like a new child for you and your family and I hope we can keep in touch.

P.S. I work in Provo a few times a month. I could meet up with you to get a copy of the video sometime if you would like.
Those pictures of the boys are so cute! We missed you at camp this year (and so did Mr. Moose:)
ReplyDeleteHey! What a cute family you are! Your boys are so stinkin' cute. Let's see, I think you have one a little older than my Katie :-). I love seeing what you guys are up to!
