Thanksgiving weekend 2005

This year during Thanksgiving we were very busy with various activities.

Photos

11/23 - We headed up north to Brigham City to visit with Clark and Lisa and to see their new baby and house. Michael Robert Funk was born Wed. 11/16 at 2:29 pm. Brevin and Spencer wanted to hold and kiss him the whole time (when they weren't fighting over toys) and Brevin even asked if he could "borrow" Michael and take him home. Clark and Lisa had just moved into their new house the weekend before (nice timing). It reminded us of how we were lucky to get moved into our new house a month before Spencer was born.

11/24 - Thanksgiving this year was at the Grandma and Grandpa Park's house. The day was filled with the usual eating, playing games, eating, football, eating, Karaoke, and a bit more eating. Grandpa Park had his annual ceremony of turning on the Christmas lights that night.

11/25 - Friday started early for me (5:00 am) to do a little after Thanksgiving day shopping. Wal-Mart was not the funnest place to be, but I was home by 5:45 to go back to bed. We all got up and headed to the University Mall to see Santa fly in on Chopper 5. Later that night we had a movie night in Greg's classroom on the big screen projector where we watched "The Polar Express". Brevin has now seen it at least 40 times.

11/26 - We put up our tree in the morning and then froze as we put up the lights on the house that afternoon. Our usual white icicles with our green trees on the lawn. Next year we are thinking of switching to blue icicles.

11/27-28 - Sunday was nice and relaxing and then we decorated our tree on Monday night for FHE. It was fun to be with family and realize all the blessings we enjoy.

Halloween 2005

October was filled with all sorts of Halloween activities. Brevin got to go to a pumpkin patch with his preschool class and pick out his own pumpkin (he had to be able to lift it, couldn't just choose the enormous ones).

For the family party, we thought we'd all dress up as Napoleon Dynamite characters. Brevin was Napoleon and used Amber's "Annie" wig for his fro. Spencer made a cute Pedro, Amber was Deb, and I was the one and only "we all know I'm training to be a cage fighter" Kip.

I carved Brevin a Napoleon pumpkin (which won 2nd place in the contest at work) and the face of Joseph, and Amber carved the "Joseph 200" in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of his birth this year.

I brought the fam to work with me so they could see the costume parade and contest. Brevin went up on stage as Napoleon to collect my cash prize for winning 2nd place in the pumpkin carving contest. The executive management thought he was cute enough to slip him a $50 bill and also give him the big blow up pumpkin that was on stage.

Brevin and Spencer went trick-or-treating that night and both had had enough after about an hour. It was a fun and eventful Halloween. Click here to see all the photos.
